TracWise I© is a new approach to using GPS technology for vehicle management....

For Owners and Managers
TracWise I© lets owners and managers quickly gauge vehicle productivity to reduce costs, to fine tune routes and schedules, to optimize pickups/deliveries, and to make more accurate bids for new business. The unit is designed and ruggedly built to work in trucks, delivery vans, and other commercial vehicles. Installation and operation are simple and reliable.

Uses Modern GPS Technology
TracWise I© records a vehicle's exact location, as well as the date, time, and speed, using signals from satellites operated by the US government. The recording interval can be set between 1 second and 4 minutes (in 1 second increments). The recorded tracking information can be viewed on computer maps and/or analyzed by database programs, including MS Access®.  Finished management reports are produced for MS Excel® in Office 2000 or Office XP.   TracWise I© is available at an affordable price without monthly fees or other additional charges. There is no charge to receive GPS signals from satellites.

No Computer Needed in Vehicle
TracWise I© is self-contained for operation in a vehicle -- a separate computer is not needed. Instead the system uses a built-in microprocessor to read and store vehicle location and routes, date, time, and speed on the included Compact Flash Card, which is read by your office computer. If desired, a computer can be also connected to TracWise I© to show real-time movement -- this does not affect the recording process.

Large Storage Capacity
The system is especially useful because it can store up to 1 million data records per session. This means it can record and you can view vehicle movement and routes over periods of weeks and months, depending on your settings. Moreover, the Compact Flash Card that stores the data can be erased and used repeatedly to build a complete vehicle or fleet history. Data records can be stored on your office computer -- making it possible to have a detailed history for each vehicle spanning months and years.

 Works in any location worldwide.
TracWise I© uses the worldwide system of GPS satellites.  This means that it will function reliably in any country, nation, city, town, village, or unpopulated location.  TracWise I© is not dependent on telephone satellites or local cellular phone systems.  It is free of geographic restrictions.   For areas that do not have electronic maps available, the popular mapping program OziExplorer can be used with maps that have been scanned on your office scanner.

Fast Data Transfer
Data is transferred from the Compact Flash Card to your office computer via a Compact Flash Card reader (either built into your computer when it was purchased or available from us for connection to your computer's USB port). This allows very large amounts of data to be transferred in seconds instead of the hours required by systems that use the computer's serial port. This is an important consideration when selecting a high-capacity GPS data logger -- how much time do you or your staff have to spend on transferring data?

Complete at Reasonable Price
TracWise I© is supplied with all needed hardware, software (including report software), and connecting cables at a reasonable one-time price. After-sale support and consulting are also available.  Each TracWise I© is shipped with the Datalogger and built-in GPS receiver, GPS antenna (with connecting cable), 16Mb Compact Flash card, DC power cable (for car or truck cigarette lighter), AC power cable, CD-ROM disk with software and manuals, and printed manuals.

Fits Anywhere in Vehicle
TracWise I© can be placed anywhere inside a vehicle cab. It connects to a 9-32 VDC power source. The small GPS antenna sits in the cab behind the windshield. The TracWise I© unit conveniently fits in a glove box, under a seat, or any other available location, including under the hood in the engine compartment. Only two connections are needed -- one to power (cable supplied) and one to the GPS antenna (cable supplied).

Uses Convenient Memory Card
TracWise I© measures exact location (longitude and latitude), date, speed, and time, which it records on a standard Compact Flash Memory Card. Up to 1 million data records can be placed on a single 16 Mb card (included with the unit). Whenever the user decides, he can remove the memory card from TracWise I© through the built-in access slot. The card is then placed in a Flash Card reader on the office computer, and the information about the vehicle is transferred.

Compatible with Popular Software, including Mapping Programs
TracWise I© outputs data in open-text format -- this means it can be read and analyzed by your favorite database or custom software. The programs we provide also let you display actual route data on electronic maps such as the popular Street Atlas USA, OziExplorer, MS MapPoint, MS Streets and Trips, and Garmin MapSource. Advanced software is included to generate management reports for use in MS Excel® under MS Office 2000 or Office XP.

While in operation, the unit can optionally be connected to a computer for real-time display of vehicle movement on Street Atlas USA, OziExplorer, MS MapPoint, MS Streets and Trips, Garmin MapSource, or any similar mapping program that can connect to a standard GPS receiver.

Solidly Constructed
TracWise I© is housed in a solid metal case. The only connections are to the included antenna (a 10-foot cable and connector are supplied) and to 9-32 VDC (a 6-foot power cord is provided with a plug to connect to the vehicle's cigarette lighter). Permanent or temporary installations are at the user's option. Either way, TracWise I© is easy to install and it does not get in the way. The driver, swamper, or mechanic never needs to fiddle with the unit to turn it on/off or to make it work properly.

Small Size
TracWise I© is small in size (1 3/8 inches high, 3 1/2 inches wide, and 5 inches deep). The GPS antenna measures less than 1/2 inch high, 1 3/4 inches wide, and 1 3/4 inches deep. The antenna is hermetically sealed in a small plastic case and it has a strong magnetic base for mounting on a metal dashboard behind the front windshield or on the vehicle roof.

Low Power
Power requirements are modest: 9-32 VDC at 140 Ma (less than most interior light bulbs).

Complete with Software
TracWise I© is supplied standard with software to read data from the Compact Flash Card, to convert it to standard text format (NMEA standard), and to create files that can be used by Street Atlas USA, OziExplorer,  MS MapPoint, MS Streets and Trips, Garmin MapSource, and similar computer mapping programs. The text files can be imported by most database and spreadsheet software for custom analysis to meet your own requirements. The system  also produces management reports for Microsoft Access under Office 2000 or Office XP.  In addition, TracWise I© comes with software to program the TracWise I© unit to give it an unique identification and to set the recording interval (1-240 seconds).

The system software operates in Windows 98 or above. To read data from TracWise I©, the user needs to have a computer with a Compact Flash Card reader (standard on most modern computers but also available at a nominal price from us or from your local computer or office supply store.  The Compact Flash Card reader attaches to your computer's  USB port). A serial port is required to program the configuration into the TracWise I© hardware. MS Office 2000 or XP is required  to generate, view, or work with the management reports in MS Excel.
